Bright one

More clouds, this one was taken on base. Arizona has wonderful sunsets.

Sunset Point

This shot was taken at the same time and place as the previous post "Blue mountains". My eye seems to be drawn to sunscapes and silhouettes lately. Not sure why. I believe the plant in the foreground is some sort of octillo.
I don't know if the Brim Fire in Sedona has made national news or not. I hope they can contain it soon, it got within 1/2 of a mile of one of our favorite spots, Slide Rock. Those 100 days without rain last year are really taking a toll.
Beth left Phoenix today, she is headed back home for a while. Mandy and I wish her the best during her newest chapter.
I will be in South Dakota for the 4th, I can't wait!

Rays

Another Sedona picture. This is similar to my last post but the rays "pop" more and the land is much darker, I like the contrast. If you click on the photo and zoom in on the clouds and the light you should be able to see what this might look like as a print. I especially like the dark colors of blue in the sky, thanks to a little postprocessing.

Big week for Mandy and I, the "public release" for Tech Sgt is Thursday, let's keep our fingers crossed. OK?

Bell Rock

More Sedona, Bell Rock is one of my favorite formations. It lies on the road into Sedona so you see it when you arrive and when you leave, giving two photo opportunities. This particular one was late afternoon. The clouds couldn't have worked for any better for me.
While checking these photos I hope everyone knows that they can click on the actual photo, this will enlarge it and give you a better view. This is so important for some of my photos because they are cropped for specific picture sizes, 8x10, 11x14 etc...

Sedona Black and White

I have been trying to get this photo up for 4 or 5 days now, errors for my page kept coming up. I apologize for the long delay in worthwhile posts.
I love this photo. Fluffy white clouds and the shadows that accompany them can change Sedona's landscape drastically. The contrast really helps to show the true dept and size. I haven't done much with black and white in the past, I guess I'll have to change that.
