Right now I am in a rut, bored with any attempt of photo processing. Not bored but uninspired. No picture seems good enough, and when I manipulate it, it just gets worse. I apologize and promise I will work on recharging some creative energy. Hopefully education is the key. There are a few photography and photoshop classes I am considering. We shall see. Bye for now.

Buckle
My Grandfather's belt. I wear it often. Have you ever worn something that makes you feel good? I have heard that wearing certain gems can change your mood. I can understand that. I love this belt, and picture myself as more confident or lucky when it is around my waist. Thanks Gramps. Both photos were taken with a candle off to the left for a warm effect. The top photo is more appealing to me, I have always liked this filter. The depth of field on the bottom allows the buckle to draw your attention. Please leave me a comment and tell me which photo gets your vote.

Dust Storm

On my way to work the other day we had a pretty good dust storm. Seems like I always see something I want to shoot before work. If I stopped and took them all I would never be on time. This shot was taken through the tint on my truck. Pretty neat effect huh? I'm sure I could buy a filter and get the same results, but this was free and I didn't have too take the time to get out of the truck.

Ram

This big horn sheep was near the road in Custer State Park, SD. I took this while touring the Black hills with Uncle Eric, Aunt Robin and my Wifey, we had a great time. The origional photo was very over exposed and washed out. I used the hue/saturation option to deepen and used a digital filter for the painting appearance. My two favorite sections of this photo are the eye and the lens flare about midway down.

Good Morning

This was taken with my first digital camera, I found the photo exploring some old files. The resolution isn't very good but I still like it.
The camera was still new and I was excited about getting up at 6 am hoping for a nice sunrise. This is the tip top of our neighbors bush.
I haven't been replying to many comments lately, and I apologize for that. I will mend my ways.

Old Faithful

If you know me personally you have probably seen this watch. As you can see he is "gently used". Great quality along with the style I like.
I had a macro session in the back yard this weekend. Hanging the watch on the fence seemed to work, I'm sure my neighbors think I'm crazy.
I shot some other things that you might or might not see, it all depends on postprocessing. I planned on shooting several items (flower, necklace, grapefruit), when I didn't get the results I have hoped for, I resorted to trying anything. Out of all of the photos taken the impromptu are by far the best. Which of course goes against my "direct your picture" theory. Oh well.

The Eye Has It

A little out for the ordinary for me. His eye is particularly interesting, almost evil. It is amazing what one click of the mouse can do. If I was to ever make a print of this, I would probably crop some more to make the eye the focal point. Wonderful colors. Sorry for the lack of effort today. Mandy and I have had a pretty busy Friday.

Fighting Falcon

This photo is not one of my favorites. I am posting to display a new technique I discovered the other day. Pretty cool huh? I know it has been done before but I plan on using this in conjunction with some other processes. The end product should be new and different.
I'm planning on going to Sedona this weekend, I should have a memory card full of new shots to post. Thanks for stopping by.

Last year I ran a 5K downtown. Race time was early so I got a couple of good shots of the sun, still low, reflecting off of the beautiful buildings. It's still amazes me that you can find things this fantastic when you least expect it.
A few of the sites I visit often are by people that live in or around London. That city is so old and Phoenix is so new, I love their photos and wanted an "old" city to shoot. I think this picture revamped my enthusiasm photographing Phoenix.

Hibiscus cutout

When we checked into our room in Hawaii I noticed huge hibiscus hedges around the property. So naturally I took some shots. I didn't like the results, loved the color but wasn't a fan of the end product. Hello photoshop. This is what I ended up with. Another nice piece of art that evolved from a "so so" photo.
