Blue Mountains

Last weekend Mandy, Beth and I went to wonderful Sedona. I collected many photos I will be sharing. This one was taken at a rest stop on the way home. Some curve adjustments gave me the color mix I was looking for. The mountains are the best part, I tried cropping out most of the sky but it seemed incomplete. I like but don't love the final product, maybe I'll try some more manipulation later.

Not cursed anymore

This is a shot of Jared's hat at his B-day party last weekend. The plan for this photo was to have the background so out of focus your eye would only pay attention to the hat, things never work exactly as planned. Some cropping, color adjustments and a filter gives me an effect I will settle for. Not what I was going for but still nice.

Paying Attention

Part of a picture I took in SD. I don't remember many sunsets looking like this when I was growing up.
The Black Hills were so beautiful the first time I was home from the Air Force. The trees were greener and the skies were bluer, mountains more majestic and no haze, I could see for miles. I figured South Dakota had an exceptionally wet spring that year. I was wrong. They actually hadn't changed, but while living there I took them for granted. So, maybe we always had sunsets like this I just wasn't paying attention

Incentive flight

I'm back. Hopefully...... Here is a shot of me in the back seat of an F-16. I earned an "Incentive flight" for winning an award. The flight was amazing, zooming over the valley with virtually no limits on speed and altitude. The pilot went easy on me when I asked him to. He could have easily made me toss my cookies. All in all it was fantastic, not everyone can say they have tried this ride.
