Paying Attention

Part of a picture I took in SD. I don't remember many sunsets looking like this when I was growing up.

The Black Hills were so beautiful the first time I was home from the Air Force. The trees were greener and the skies were bluer, mountains more majestic and no haze, I could see for miles. I figured South Dakota had an exceptionally wet spring that year. I was wrong. They actually hadn't changed, but while living there I took them for granted. So, maybe we always had sunsets like this I just wasn't paying attention

I remember when you took this picture. We were driving down the road and suddenly you jammed on the breaks, leaped out of the car and you were off in the field to take this glorius picture. I always told you to "Stop and Smell the roses".

Dude, this is a fabulous shot. And you're right, you weren't paying attention ;o) South Dakota is one of the most beautiful places on earth. The more "other" places I live, the more I realize that fact.
